Old photographs of Castle Hedingham

(click on image to see full size)

Falcon Square - late 1800's or early 1900's. The shop facing straight on is the village Post Office.

'Bennetts', Falcon Square - early 1900's, at which time it was the post office (on the left) and general store. The post office having moved from its earlier location a few yards away (see pic above this one).

Two photographs of the 'Blue Boar Inn' public house, St.James Street. After a fire in the early 1900's (as can be seen in the lower pic), the building was torn down and not rebuilt. However the boundary wall, as can be seen in the left of the top picture, still remains and is now the street boundary of Castle Hedingham Tennis Club.

St.James Street 1930's? The shop to the far right of the photograph is the village Post Office, now moved from Falcon Square.
